The Role of Trauma in Addiction

In this episode of the Recovered Life show, I speak with Kim Ledgerwood about the role of trauma in addiction. Kim's thirty-year career in Law Enforcement took a dramatic turn after a traumatic experience on the job threw her into active addiction. Now a successful business owner Kim shares her story about her recovery and the impact that trauma can have on addiction, how to recover from it, and shares hope for people suffering from trauma and addiction on how to live their best-recovered life.

Kim was a Toronto Police Officer for 30 years, retiring as a Staff Sgt. She went back to school as an adult and achieved her Masters in Leadership. She retired slightly early so she can pursue her dream of entrepreneurship. Kim also worked side hustles until she came upon a water ionizer that changed her life. Kim’s mental and physical health improved tremendously as a result of drinking this water and now she wants to share it with the world. Kim’s passion lies with giving service and helping people. She has written in an inspirational book due to be published in June and is extending her portfolio with possibly a coaching course in the near future.
